  DAU HOT TOPIC FORUM

  TOPIC: "Roes of Congressional Staffers and Lobbyists in Defense Acquisition Process"

  WHEN: Wednesday, October 3, 2012 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

  WHERE: DAU Fort Belvoir Campus, Hirsch Center, Bldg 226, Fort Belvoir, VA

  WHAT: A firsthand look at the impact lobbyists and congressional staffers can have on the defense acquisition process.

  The DAU Alumni Association and the Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) are co-sponsoring this Hot Topic Forum during which Mr. M.L. “Buzz” Hefti, of Van Scoyoc
  Associates address this impact and explain how acquisition professionals can better interface with lobbyists and congressional staffers. Mr. Hefti has served as a staff
  assistant to Senator John Warner, and is currently a practicing defense lobbyist. He has vast experience in the congressional arena.

  The Hot Topic Forum is open to all DAU staff, faculty and students; defense industry professionals (Alumni Association Corporate Sponsors have highest priority); Office of
  the SecDef staff; and government acquisition employees. The Forum is part of the DAU Staff and Faculty Enrichment Program and also provides one Continuous Learning
  Point (CLP) towards meeting continuous learning requirements for government acquisition certification.
