DAU HOT TOPIC FORUM

"Human System Integration: A Primer on Policies, Processes and Initiatives"

Thursday, August 12, 2010
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m
.
DAU Fort Belvoir Campus, Building 202, Room 6 (VTC) Fort Belvoir, VA & VTC at DAU regional campus locations.

The DAU Alumni Association and the DAU Acquisition Community Connection are
co-sponsoring this Hot Topic Forum focusing on DoD's approach to Human Systems Integration (HSI).  The Hot Topic Forum will provide defense acquisition professionals with a keen understanding of the statutory and regulatory HSI requirements, policies, and processes for meeting and exceeding performance, cost, and schedule in systems design and development.
Several HSI initiatives will be reviewed, including the Navy's Littoral Combat Ship, the Army's Future Combat Systems, Air Force's Global-Hawk, and the Coast Guard's Off-Shore Patrol Cutter.  Information will also be provided on efforts to incorporate human requirements in the Joint
Capabilities Integration Development System
(JCIDS), identification of HSI artifacts in scheduled technical reviews, and available educational tools and opportunities for both managers and practitioners at major staffs and in the field.

The guest speaker is Mr. Richard M. Etheridge, Branch Chief, Acquisition & Human Systems Integration, Department of the Navy.  He has extensive acquisition and program management experience in the HSI field.

The Forum is open to all DAU staff, faculty and students; defense industry professionals (Alumni Association Corporate Sponsors have highest priority); Office of the SecDef staff; and government acquisition employees.  The Forum will be available at DAU regional campus locations via VTC.  The Forum is part of the DAU Staff and Faculty Enrichment Program and also provides
one Continuous Learning Point (CLP) towards meeting continuous learning requirements for government acquisition certification.

To reserve a seat at Fort Belvoir for this no-cost learning and development event, please register by providing the following information via email to acc@dau.mil  NLT COB Monday, August 9, 2010.
