Building the Foundation for Success: Making Performance Based Acquisition
Work
This track deals with two of the building blocks of successful acquisition
of services: Performance Based Acquisition and Enterprise Spend
Management/Strategic Sourcing. The first part of this track is a tutorial by
Shaw Cohe, Senior Principal for Defense, Acquisition Solutions, Inc. on the
basics of Performance-Based Acquisition, best practices, "lessons learned in
the trenches," and how to make it work as a practitioner.
The
second part is a panel discussion moderated by Bob Reisner, Senior Principal
for Strategic Sourcing, Acquisition Solutions and including John Anderson,
Vice President, A.T. Kearney; Raj Sharma, CEO, Censio; and other leading
industry executives to discuss Enterprise Spend Management/Strategic
Sourcing commercial best practices and lessons learned. (Howell Auditorium) |

Success Stories: Lessons Learned from Recent Service Acquisitions
Discussion will focus on examples of organizations that successfully
implemented performance based acquisitions. On the panel are Mr. Mike
Button, Senior Director for Infrastructure Support for CSC; Mr. David Miller, President EMI Services;
CAPT Paul M. Bland USN (Ret) ,
Lockheed Martin; and Mr. Phil Salmeri,
President M&M H Design. Discussion focuses on the prior state,
solutions implemented and will attempt to identify common conditions or
organization attributes that contributed to successful implementation.
